How long are the results visible for?

What Causes Cellulite?
Causes of cellulite are varied but the most common cause is related to poor blood circulation, reduced venous flow, impaired lymphatic drainage and fluid retention which can trigger the transformation of subcutaneous fat cells into cellulite. The predisposition to cellulite seems to be genetically inherited. Some people simply have more fat cells, weak veins, fragile lymphatic vessels, poor circulation or hormonal sensitivity.



The Truth about Cellulite:
Cellulite is the term used to describe deposits of fat and other material trapped in pockets of connective tissue beneath the skin. Cellulite causes the progressive dimpling appearance of the skin. The main factors responsible for cellulite are excess consumption of saturated fats, lack of exercise, poor hydration and imbalances in hormonal function. 80% of all women are affected by cellulite.   Also do not forget that genetics always plays a part.

Why do females have more cellulite than men? Cellulite occurs more frequently in women than in men because of the way subcutaneous fat is compartmentalized.


The following also contribute to cellulite in one way or another:

•  Female Hormones
• Pregnancy
• Stress
• Sedentary Lifestyles
• Smoking
• Enlarged Lymph Nodes
• Obesity

It is important to understand that these factors may not contribute equally in different people. In some people there may be primary and contributing factors to cellulite.
Cellulite has 5 stages of development and is considered a solely cosmetic condition. Indeed, until recently, cellulite was not acknowledged in medical literature. Now, research has shown that changes over time in the body’s skin structure actually lead to the transformation of fat cells into cellulite.


STAGE 1Blood microcirculation, venous flow, and/or lymphatic drainage to the subcutaneous layer are impaired. Reduced blood circulation starves and weakens the surrounding tissue, making it more susceptible to cellulite. Reduced venous flow translates to higher fluid retention and pooling of the blood. Reduced lymphatic drainage means that lymph fluids, which normally carry waste away from the cells, are trapped in the area. The septae connective tissue may begin to become more fibrous. In this stage, all the changes are not visible to the naked eye. There may not be any other symptoms, with the possible exception of cuts and bruises taking longer to heal because of the impaired circulation.


STAGE 2

Once the circulation is reduced, the capillaries and veins become weakened and leak blood into the surrounding tissue. This increases the pressure in the tissue and restricts circulation and fluid drainage even more. In this stage, you may notice thicker and tenderer skin than normal, as well as discoloration or broken veins. The skin more also bruise more easily, however, there is no appearance of the lumpy cellulite bumps yet.


STAGE 3

After a few months of lymphatic fluid buildup, the fat tissues become swollen and begin to push against the outer skin, the first signs of the lumps and the “orange peel” look appear.


STAGE 4

The static lymphatic fluid causes the fibrous septae to congeal into thicker fibers. Cells starved of oxygen and nutrients may also become incorporated into these fibers, thus adding to the thickness of the fibers. These fibers begin to trap and squeeze the fat cells, which press on the surrounding tissue and reduce area circulation even more. Because of the lack of circulation the skin may feel cold to the touch.


STAGE 5

Because of the high pressure, blood circulation is re-routed around the cellulite area. Septae fibers continue to grow to an extent that the fat cells are completely trapped. Although fat continues to be stored in these cells, it is not efficiently removed through exercise or diet because of the poor circulation. In this stage, the thick fibers, trapped fat cells and stagnant fluids form a honeycomb structure called steatomes, this causes the “cheesecake” lumps and bumps that are the hallmark of cellulite.

The Centurion Nu Skin ageLOC Competition

Review: Nu Skin ageLOC Tru Face Essence Ultra

I have to admit that I love serums. A serum can provide the needed ingredients that can penetrate deeply into the skin and help give the skin a needed glow and youthful appearance. It often seems impossible to fight the battle for aging skin and prevent lines and wrinkles. Moisturizers are usually not enough, so Nu Skin has created ageLOC Tru Face Essence Ultra to give us a great weapon against this constant battle.

The ingredients in Nu Skin ageLOC Tru Face Essence Ultra help to protect skin against free radical damage and shield elastin and collagen from degradation enzymes that attack skin protein. It uses Ethocyn, which has been clinically proven to firm skin. This silky serum also contains anti-oxidants such as Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin E and Safflower Seed Oil.

A clinical study was performed. Over 55% reported improvement in overall firmness and firmness in the eyes in as little as one week. At week 12, 80% of the subjects reported firmness in these areas. 

The recommended use is one capsule in the morning and one at night. There is enough serum in the capsule to apply it on the eyes, face and neck. It is applied just prior to moisturizer. The best use is to apply the majority of the product to an area of concern and then the rest to the other areas of the face and neck. I found that it does work quite well at firming. At 42 my skin has just started to feel slightly slack. Unfortunately I am having issues in the eye region. My eyes are a little crinkly. Ugh! I apply most of the serum to my eyes and then smooth it out all over my face. This is a serum that glides on smoothly (it does have a dimethicone in it that does make it smooth). This doesn’t distract from the product at all. The areas that were helped the most are my eyes, which definitely look firmer and feel firmer than before. I had noticed a good amount of slackening in my eyelids, so when I applied the product I concentrated in that area. I feel that ageLOC Tru Face Essence Ultra did a great job of firming up my eyes, especially my eyelids. Love it!

Having my own skin clinic I am often victim to all sorts of new and wonderful creams, potions and gadgets 

claiming to do all sorts of things. When I say victim I do not use the term lightly as I like to try everything on 

myself first, well it would be rude not to. After all, results are what we are after, right?

So when somebody approached me with this little hand held galvanic device claiming it could roll back the years to 

the day when it was firm, toned, stretch mark free, cellulite free, sagging free, and wait for it give me inch loss, 

I thought yeah right, but hey if it would help my arms stop flapping I thought what have I got to loose apart from 

£393. Having spent over 30 times this amount on other salon equipment, I just had to try this claimed magic 

gadget for the sake of all things anti-ageing and skin. It is designed for home use, however it can also be used in 

a salon environment, and probably one of the stars best kept secrets…let me explain Brad Pitt among others is 

their claim to fame!

My experience

To review the results I tried it on only one of my arms so I had something to compare it with. It was frankly so 
simple to use (you have to wonder whether it’s doing anything). I could not feel anything at all however 
proceeded to continue the circling motion indicated and then I repeated the treatment again within 48 hours 
to the same area and…

As if by magic just simply holding my arms up in the mirror there was a visible and quite measurable difference. 
So I thought I would give the wings a bit of a flap and again was left quite impressed with the lack of flapping 
on the treated arm compared to the untreated arm! So a magic gadget that actually really truly works and probably 
for the first time does actually do MORE than it says on the box.

Since then I have added the range to my salon treatments and skin care range and joined the distributors’ team.

I have had visible results. My friend bought one for her baby bulge and apart from being secretly addicted to her little purse sized machine and gel, swears by it as the only thing that has helped her to see her six pack again.

How does it work?

Many factors are at play that effect how our skin looks and feels.  For example, prolonged exposure to sunlight/UV 
rays, smoking, lack of exercise and sudden weight loss are all factors that affect the condition of our skin which
can lead to sagging skin, uneven skin texture, loss of moisture, lack of contour and cellulite.

The Galvanic Body Spa gently pulsates leaving your skin highly receptive to the absorption of Nu Skin’s 
advanced ageLOC anti-ageing ingredients deep into the skin. The vibrating effect of the Galvanic Body Spa 
stimulates the movement of fluid to purify and refresh the skin allowing more nutrients to be delivered to the skin 
cells and breaks down fatty deposits improving the signs of ageing skin at a cellular level.

Effective use

As your skin is waterproof (and what a lot of packaging neglects to point out) irrespective of your creams and 
cost, YOUR skin will only (when applied directly) absorb 10% of the product. The difference with combining 
products with galvanic current is that your skin will effectively receive 10 times more product/nutrients than 
if you were to apply directly to the skins surface.

The specific body shaping gel carries a negative charge and combined with the negative charge emanated 
via the galvanic current from the machine it helps repel the product through the skin. The body spa is 
therefore only effective when used in combination with the body shaping gel.

The combination is used to tighten, slim and tone the skins appearance on problems and areas such as cellulite,
